Momma's Wish List

Over time I've been adding baby things I need to my Target Registry just so I could keep an ongoing check list in my head! Last week I finally finished my list... & unexpectedly added another list on top of it from Buy Buy Baby! I'll be honest and let you all know that registering was a very hard task for me. It was more overwhelming than expected, which took a lot of the joy out of it! Of course, I'm the one that made it an overwhelming process because I kept assuming people were going to judge me based on what was on it or say that what I registered for was unnecessary or too expensive. I never fully embraced that it was simply my wish list. I simply over analyzed the entire thing! However, after much tweaking, adding, removing, re-adding, etc.  & lots of conversations with friends (telling me I was being ridiculous) I'm now confident enough to say, that though some of those judgements may still happen, I am fully satisfied with the research that went into me registering and the end product of whats on my registry! I'm so satisfied that excitement has taken over...
So I'm going to share a few of the things from it that I love and can't wait to see in my home!

1. JJ. Cole BundleMe - after today's cold weather finally hitting, I see more and more reason for this handy contraption. Little Zeek Man needs to stay warm during his first days of life and this will help since he's coming right in the middle of winter!

2. Eddie Bauer Trail Hiker Travel System - I looked into a lot of strollers and I knew from the beginning I wanted a jogger stroller (3 wheels). I feel like it's what will suit our family best with all our outings!  I'm most excited about this one because it's actually reasonably priced... & it has simple neutral colors!

3. JJ Cole Diaper Bag - diaper bags were one of those items I kept adding to my registry and then deleting. Partially because of the outrageous prices of them, but mainly because of the quality! I would find a decent priced bag online that was also cute and versatile (so I thought), so I'd add it to my list.  Then weeks later when I actually saw the bag in stores I'd pick it up and feel the fabric and absolutely hate it! I'm all about quality, so I'm not going to settle for some floppy flimsy bag that could rip at any minute, esp when I know I have to take it everywhere for the next year or two. I finally found this bag and just fell in love with a) the price, b) the pattern/design, c) the pockets and storage & d) the thick wipeable  fabric!

4. My BreastFriend pillow - I continued to compare this pillow and the boppy knowing this gave much more support to the baby and to my back while nursing. After several friends recommended it from their personal experience I was sold on it. (however, I did register for both this pillow and a boppy pillow because I will use the boppy not for a nursing pillow, but for an extra cushion/chair to prop the Zeek up with or lay him on!)

5. ERGO Baby carrier - I have read and heard (from friends first hand experiences) that this is by far one of the best carriers on the market right now! The main reason I chose it was because I've always had a bad back and this carrier has great reviews saying it has amazing support which never effects your back! If I can alleviate any back pain, then I surely will!

6. SwaddleMe blanket - They're absolutely adorable and perfect for swaddling with out the stress of wrapping and tying a blanket all the time! (aka we're lazy and want the easy way out on this one! )

7.  Diaper Champ - Yes, another reason to be lazy. I don't want to be taking dirty smelly diapers outside to the trash  all day long, esp in the middle of winter! I'd freeze my tush off. So, this lovely trash can contains the smell for me making my house more pleasant! Then I just have one big bag to take out at the end of the day! And even better, most diaper cans make you buy the specific trash bags that fit that trash can only. The reason I chose this one is because you don't have too! The cheap regular trash bags fit this can, an easy way to save money and time!

8. A Pack n Play - I have decided that instead of buying a bassinet or cradle that could only be used the first month or so, it is better to buy something that can grow with Zeek (and our future kids)! I plan to keep Zeek in my room next to me for the first couple weeks so that it will make nursing in the night easier. I chose a pack n play that had a napper attached to it so he can sleep in that for the first couple weeks and then it will still have use after that because as he gets bigger I can take the napper out and he'll still fit in it! We'll be able to travel with it and go to the grandparents house for nap time! Why not buy something that will last at least a year versus only lasting two months of your child's life!

- Also note, all the large pricey items (stroller, pack n play, ergo, swing, etc.) were intentionally registered for very gender neutral! We plan on having more kids after Zeek and we hope to be able to re-use as much stuff as possible!
