Recent [Thrifty] Finds

This post is long over due considering the fact this entire blog was once all about my thrift finds and how it affected my style... As many of you know, I'm kind of a bargain shopper & will never buy things full price. It's just one of those things that brings me a smile of satisfaction...

^^^^^
It's that time again, when I have to go through Zeek's drawers and box up almost all of his clothes because he's out grown them all! A few weekends ago he randomly bumped up to size 9 months & I only had maybe one onesie that fit him. So, the hubs & I made a quick trip to the nearest consignment shop where we were pleasantly surprised, when checking out, the lady told us we'd be saving money if we picked out three more onesies to get their 10 for 10 sale (which I had no clue about)! This sure was music to my ears!

^^^^^
And of course, we love to check out our local Goodwill store to see if there are any hidden gems. Last time I went, these two practically jumped off the rack at me saying "Zeek NEEDS me for the fall!"... I mean who can resist a cardigan?! I know they're my favorite piece of clothing, so I'm sure my son will  agree one day... maybe!?

Goodwill Finds

I ventured to the local Goodwill store the other day on a mission to find some cute onesies for our best friends who just found out they're having a little girl... Once I completed that mission, I glanced around the store and just happened to find this Lands End pink/white shirt for 2$ and this precious dress for 6$!!  It was just confirmation I still have a great thrifters eye! This dress is probably my all time favorite find yet!!

I got the Job!

So remember me telling you about that job at a Consignment store?? Welp, I totally got it! And I started yesterday... It is going to be such a chill laid back job & I'm so excited! Another plus to the job? Having to go buy new DRESSY clothes. You know me, I love & live in my jeans. Well, that's not allowed to happen any more! So, of course the first place I hit up was Goodwill...

$18 later, I'd say I did pretty well!!!

Comfort is key

Sweater: Christmas gift
Shirt: Thrifted (Gap)
Jeans: Thrifted
Shoes: Thrifted

I apologize for being a day late on this post, but yesterday just got too busy and more important things came up! I'm glad I got stuck in this outfit for the day because comfort really is key! The jeans are so light weight & the bell bottom allows air to cool the legs. And the shirt is the perfect stretch material for a tee. I was so glad I was comfortable all day because I ended up leaving the house at 8:20am and didn't return home until 8:30pm... A long day out! But, during the day I realized that sometimes there are things that pop into 'first priority', unexpectedly! For instance, I was planning on blogging yesterday around lunch time, but the hubby was having an AWFUL day, so I knew it was best for me to stick with him and encourage him during that time! And then last night, I knew a spur of the moment date (planned by the hubs) was much needed for growing our relationship & marriage... So, I went with the following and left my scheduling and 'prioritizing' to the moment!

Thrift Finds

I absolutely love revealing the hidden secret of "This and That" jewelry store to my friends... almost all of their jewelry is only $1.25! Both Jessy and I found some great finds. I can't wait to wear this turquoise necklace & I have already been wearing this bangle all day!

I found some amazingly comfy bell-bottoms for only $4 & this cute vintage purse for $2!

Shirts: My goal for the day was to find some dressy shirts! I've been in need of some, especially patterned! I think I did very well. The top two patterned shirts were $4 each and the other two were each $1! (some of them are even brand names... Anne Taylor & Gap.)

The main reason I bought this skirt was because it was extremely comfortable. It's made of a light cotton material perfect for summer and plus, it was only $2... And last but not least, my favorite item of the day!! This Ralph Lauren "jacket"! There was much controversy of whether it's a jacket or a shirt. It took at least 5 associates debating before they decided to charged me the price of a shirt ($4), but I will consider it a jacket! I absolutely adore it.

Have you been thrifting lately??
I'd love to hear and see your success stories!
So fill me in on what you've found & what your favorite item to shop for is...

London Fog

Coat: Thrifting (London Fog)
Shirt: Thrifting
Belt: F21
Jeans: Plato's (Express)
Shoes: Target

Here is my new "trench coat", I guess you would call it! I've been searching for one for months now, but could never buckle down and fork out the mullah. Until I found this gorgeous pink one at a thrift store for only 8$! And come to find out, it is a London Fog (the trench coats of trench coats)... The name actually defined the weekend quite well (minus the London part)! Rain, gloom, clouds, foggy mind, cold, tired, on and on. To spare you the details, I'll just say that it was a gloomy sad emotional weekend and add on top of that the stress of a flat tire w/ being informed that we really need to replace all four tires! Money money money, it really does make the world go round!

A day of traveling

Jacket: Thrifting ($1)
Shirt: Thrifting ($1)
Pearls: Antique store ($3)
Jeans: Plato's (Express)
Shoes: Thrifting ($4)

What a wonderful sunny day of traveling, or my version of traveling! Because we have no money for actually traveling the world, I find that I have resorted to exploring small towns! I absolutely love finding new towns and walking down it's main street to see all that it has to offer. Today, my mom and I went to four different towns. We started in Greer, SC then went to Landrum, SC, onto Tryon, NC and finished off in Saluda, NC. We found some amazing antique stores & thrift stores that will be well worth another drive there, soon. I also love seeing what local restaurants different towns have. My favorite is when I find a cute little bakery or sandwich shop! No luck with eating at one of those today, but we definitely passed a few that looked worth trying out! Jewelry seemed to be the theme of the day. I was continually finding different necklaces that I adored, but I kept to my budget and bought my favorite two! ...
I hope yall get a chance to venture out this weekend and find some great deals!
Happy Friday!

Rain, Rain, GO away...

Scarf: Thrift ($1)
Shirt: Thrift (Old Navy. $1)
Belt: Thrift ($1)
Jeans: Banana Republic Outlet ($15)
Boots: Target ($6)

Today is very gray and gloomy! I had to dress practically and comfortably. Rain boots are great because one of my biggest pet-peeves is having the bottom of my jeans wet because then they stick to your legs and make you cold all day long! It's the worst. Plus, I'm always cold anyway, I don't need that extra thing making me even more cold! [Thank you rain boots for keeping my jeans dry!]... Two reason for the comfortable look today, 1) I'm driving 40 mins to pick up a girl I'm babysitting all day (well, the babysitting part makes it 3 reasons for comfort). I hate spending that much time in a car and being uncomfortable. 2) it's rainy and cold out, which means I'll be spending my afternoon on the couch with some hot tea and books. there's nothing better than lounging around on a Saturday! Well, I'll admit that thrifting is the ultimate thing for a Saturday afternoon, but I have already done my thrifting for the week! Below is my best finds (of the week). I actually spent full price (at a thrift store) for them! I never spend full price when I know there is always the $1 rack... $4 for each of them. I love them both and I think I'll be able to get $4 of use out of them! ... Well, now it's time for you all to go curl up on the couch and relax!

(a pink and gray pencil skirt & wonderful shoes)

And don't forget to go vote on which 'remix' is the best!
Happy Saturday!!

Cold Rain & Trains

Blazer: Thrifting ($.80)
Shirt: Plato's (clearance $3)
Jeans: Banana Republic Outlet ($20)
Shoes: Thrifting ($4)

So my friends, this is our feeble attempt at taking pictures today! The picture above is the result of hearing a loud roaring train behind me... we had such bad luck that all you can do is laugh! Literally the second we stepped on those tracks it started to rain (I freaked for the life of my camera), then about 3 mins into taking (umm, maybe two) pictures that stupid train was coming for us!

Yep, those lights in that background are it... I'll admit, I was really excited for pictures today! I even came up with different poses and stuff, some with the jacket on and some with it off. But, obviously that didn't work out for us. I decided on this outfit today because when I woke up it was rainy and hailing. It was so gloomy and felt like fall again. These colors were perfect for that kinda feel! O, and I can't forget that I was super excited at how cheap this outfit was too. Remember this blazer was one of the ones I got for $.80 while thrifting, the best deal I've EVER gotten!

And there he goes...

And friends don't forget to follow me on bloglovin. I lost all of my followers... where are all of you?
