Outfit Post: Copy Cat

Shirt: Thrifting
Pants: Thrifting
Shoes: Plato's Closet

Yep - I totally copied this outfit... didn't you recognize it from LovelyPepa
I mean why not copy when I had the very items as part of my wardrobe already... and after wearing it, I remembered the total cost for the outfit was only $10!! What a steal... Shoes $8, Pants $1, Shirt $1, & the hat was a gift! You can't beat that... And let me add that Red & Tan are definitely meant to be together! They complement each other so perfectly!

Outfit Post: Celebrations!!

It is officially sweater season... and I am LOVING it!!! I've come to believe that a tan sweater should be an essential item in everyone's closet. It's such a great go-to look on crisp cool days! ...  The other weekend we had the privilege of taking a good friend out for a birthday celebration. What a great excuse to get all schnazzed up & go downtown for some delicious Italian food! My dear friend Jenna turned 25 years young!! Happy (late) Birthday (again)!!!

Outfit Post: Fall colors

Shirt: J.Crew Clearance Center
Pants: Target
Boots: Walmart

Check out those A-MAZING red trees in the background! Can we say Fall time?!? My all time favorite season, if you couldn't already tell... So, I never thought I'd try mixing black & brown before, simply because growing up that was always the biggest fashion "No no".  Just ask my husband, I'm sure he's heard hundreds of lectures from me due to his naive-ness about fashion rules! And now look at me, doing the very thing I would repulse at! I'll admit, it is growing on me! However, I've decided I'm only ok with it if it's the accessories that counteract the two! i.e: I will only wear brown accessories with black staple items. I don't see myself wearing two staple items in these two contrasting colors, any time soon... Rules, I tend to have a love hate relationship with them in most situations!

What are your thoughts on mixing black & brown?

Outfit Post: Red, White & Blue

Shirt: Thrifting
Pants: Thrifting
Shoes: Charlotte Russe

I'm a little late on the bandwagon with RED pants... but late is better than never, right? I found these lovely ones at Goodwill last week for two bucks, so of course I jumped on that deal! & I forgot how comfortable jeggings are until I wore them to work this weekend. So comfy cozy... The husband said I looked too American in this outfit bc of the red, white, & blue theme going on. But I truly believe navy is the perfect color to offset bright red, so I had to pair the pants with this comfy shirt! Who cares that it's not the Four of July, I can still show some American love, right? OR better yet, just dress cute with out showing tribute it to anything!!

Outfit Post: Flowery silk

Shirt: Thrifted (Vintage)
Skirt: Plato's Closet (Ann Taylor)
Shoes: Target

The quality of the pictures is not up to par, so my apologies! I must blame part of that on the nasty wet & muggy weather (hence the frizzy mess of hair going on)! When I found this shirt at Goodwill I completely fell for it. The colors, pattern, & silkiness just all popped out at me! It reminded me of something Anthropology would have & that made the dollar purchase that much more satisfying! And speaking of Anthropology, I'm excited about the news that a store is opening soon here in downtown Greenville! I'm hoping once it opens, it will give me great inspiration & ideas that can come your way...

Outfit Post: Rainy Sunny Days

Sweater: Thrifting
Boots: Deja Vu Consignment

My husband would totally disagree with what I'm about to say, but I'm going to say it any way... Rainy Sunny days are some of the best times to relax! You wake up to the sound of pouring rain. Enjoy a cup of coffee & some magazines while listening to the rain. Curl up on the couch & enjoy a cheesy chick-flick. By the time your movie is over it is now sunny with little sprinkles of rain. & by the time you get yourself up & dressed, it has stopped raining completely so you can go grab some ice cream as the sun shines down on you!! ... That was totally the extent of my day today! So refreshing, rejuvenating, & relaxing!... And what's better to wear than a huge comfy sweater during all of it? It goes to show that some times shopping the XL racks at Goodwill is totally worth it because you can find a gem like this one!

Outfit Post: Refocusing

{I absolutely LOVE the library and the fact I can look at all the magazines I want for FREE!}

Cardigan: JCrew Clearance center
Tank: Target Clearance
Jeans: Thrifted (Express)
Shoes: Thrifted (Old Navy)

I've realized that recently I've become pessimistic in many areas! I've been finding myself only seeing the negative things in life & forgetting to recognize the many blessings God is putting right in front of me. Our God is such a relational God & loves us so much that he makes things personal. And looking back at my crazy week last week, He totally showed up in many personal ways... it may have been in little ways, but he still was there!

I sit here complaining about paying $400 to fix Jonny's car, but in reality isn't it kinda funny that I just so happened to start work 2 weeks prior so that we were ok financially?! God knew his car was going to break down & God knew we needed that money... And the first week of work I kept telling friends & Jonny that I needed to go buy a pair of Dansko shoes because of how comfortable and good they are for your feet (since I'd now be on my feet all the time). They're usually around $120, but isn't it funny that a week after me saying that, these lovely Dansko's came into the store to be consigned in my size?! Yep, God knew I needed these too. And I only had to pay $35... it really is the little blessing throughout life that mean so much! & I'm going to re-focus my thoughts around the good things in life. Because even amongst the bad, we truly are loved & blessed beyond words!!

Outfit Post: Rough Times

Shirt: Thrifting (Black House White Market)
Leggings: ?
Shoes: Target

Do you ever have those weeks where everything seems to be crashing down on you?? Well, last week was exactly that for me. I am emotionally, mentally, & physically exhausted! & I'm just trying to keep up... I'm sitting here wishing I were in 2 places at once & wishing I had all the answers to life & where it's going! But the reality is that I can't know & I am exactly where I need to be at the moment. If God wants me to travel & see those I desire to be with, He will provide a way! Until then I must sit back, trust, pray, love,  & rely on Him & His power...

Outfit Post: twirling skirts

Shirt: Target Clearance
Skirt: Thrifting
Shoes: Walmart

I am having so much fun playing dress up for work! I'm not use to dressing fancier than my jeans, so it's been challenging & exciting. This skirt was a random find at the local Goodwill store! When I saw it, I didn't know what to think... size XL on the dollar rack! I tried it just because & decided that since it was only a dollar and the waist was elastic, I could make it work! And ever since I brought it home I have fallen in love with it! Comfortable, cute, & I can twirl around in it... such fun!

Outfit Post: Coffee Date

Cardigan: Thrifting (Mossimo)
Tank: Thrifting
Jeans: Banana Republic Outlet
Shoes: Off Broadway Shoes

I am absolutely loving my new job. I couldn't have asked for anyone better to work for or even a more adorable shop to work in! I get to organize stunning clothes & help the sweetest customers find new treasures all day long! What fun is that?! But, since I started working, it seems like life has gotten extremely busy! We've been juggling all our different schedules & time as a couple... I feel like the last time I was able to really spend time with my hubby was this past weekend when had a chance to grab some coffee downtown! It was the perfect evening out because it was the first time we had anything like fall weather! A nice cool breeze with a chill in the air. One of my favorite items to wear is a classic cardigan & it's such a great feeling to be able to throw it on & not be scorching hot!

Outfit Post: Stripes against black

Shirt & Skirt: Plato's Closet (Ann Taylor)
Shoes: Target

Friday Night Date Night. What a fun excuse to get all dressed up and take pictures!! The hubs & I both were able to wear our new outfits! His is from the other day when we went on a day date outlet mall shopping... doesn't he deserve the hottest husband award?! I think absolutely YES. & my outfit is from the long search on Friday for a wedding photog. outfit. However, this was outfit #2 which I did NOT end up wearing (for the very reason I brought a back-up outfit). The brides colors were yellow, grey, & purple! I didn't want to steal any of the thunder, so I resorted to my all black outfit. Luckily, I got to keep this gem even though I didn't wear it for it's original purpose! Husbands nice like that, not making me take back clothes and all, even though we decided on only 1 outfit which ever one worked! He's just out some green pieces of paper & I up two outfits...
