Day 13: Sunshine Yellow

Necklace: Antique Store
Shirt: Belks
Belt: F21
Jeans: PacSun
Shoes: Off Broadway

Day 13. So who else is loving yellow right now?? I mean, I can't be the only one that has totally fallen for the color! & not just because its so popular right now, but because it truly is the next best thing, EVER!!  Exaggeration? Maybe. But, it's still the main thing I'm keeping my eyes open for & continue dreaming about... I've even been dreaming about redecorating our home with some touches of this beautiful color! My idea's are stemming from these lovely Pinterest pictures....

Day 12: Wardrobe malfunction

A little preface for this outfit post... There was a little mishap the other day & lucky it happened before leaving the house... apparently I wore these jeans so much that they wore out so thin in the butt that the second I bent over to cuff them, they ripped! Like I said, I'm VERY glad this happened at home and not at the restaurant.

Shirt: Marshal's
Jeans: Plato's Closet (Express)
Shoes: Target
Jewelry: Antiquing

Day 12. Because these jeans were part of the 30 day challenge, after this wardrobe malfunction, I immediately switched the jeans out for the lovely {hole-less} pair above... I'm a little disappointed because these jeans aren't as cuff-able for capri's to stay cool in this scorching heat! I guess I'll have to start looking for some new jeans...

Day 11: Ready for Fall

Shirt: F21
Jeans: PacSun
Shoes: Off Broadway Shoes

Day 11. The start of our chaotic month has started... I'm here in Columbia for the next two weeks and it is hotter than Hades... I have no idea how I ever survived the heat of this place! There is a literal haze over the entire city because of the amount of heat and humidity. All this heat has made me more than ready for Fall time. Not just because of the heat, but because I absolutely love the Fall style, best! This outfit is the closest I can get to wearing anything relevant to Fall time! So, I wear it in hopes of some kind of cool weather very soon...

Day 10: Going Hippie

Scarf: Thrifting
Shirt: Gap Clearance
Jeans: Banana Republic Outlet
Shoes: Walmart

Day 10. I'm just trying to change things up a little, so I figured why not go 'hippie'... I've been spending so much time on Pinterest lately, it's become a bad habit! But, I got my inspiration for this look on there. I fell in love with the picture below, so when I knew I need to spice up this outfit I stole the look! I know I didn't pull it off nearly as well, but it's actually growing on me and giving me motivation to continue trying different things with the 'hippie' look!

What are your thoughts on this look??

Day 9: floral & lace

Shirt: F21
Jeans: Banana Republic Outlet
Shoes: Thrifting

Day 9. I was all giggles taking these pictures, as you can see. & I'm not sure I even have a reason why! Perhaps because I felt awkward taking pictures in front of my Bible study!? The other night we were in a hurry to take pictures but we also had to be to some friends for dinner & Bible study. So, of course we just took the camera with us... and while taking pictures in the backyard, everyone followed us out there to see how we usually do it. There's really no method behind our shoots, just me standing there & J clicking about 10 shots! It's done within minutes... me just standing there was definitely the awkward part! But, I know these gals & appreciate them so much that it was good for me to be awkward in front them, esp. before we dove into discussing life and it's awkward craziness right now!

Day 8: a twist on casual

Shirt: Target
Necklace: friend brought it back from Ireland
Jeans: PacSun
Shoes: Target

Day 8. Here's yet another comfy outfit of mine... I knew I'd be cooped up all day with nothing to do besides waste away on Pinterest, so I decided to go casual. But I knew I needed to spice it up just a little, hence the little twist & tuck going on with the tee! I actually kinda fell in love with this twist because it actually made a t-shirt somewhat flattering... I suggest everyone give it a try!! O, & this lovely necklace? Yep, some good friends brought it back from Ireland for me. How cool is that! I love that I can say I have a unique piece of jewelry from Ireland!! They kept calling it the "blue egg"...

Day 7: neutrals with a recipe

Jacket: Thrifted
Shirt: PacSun
Belt: F21
Jeans: Plato's Closet (Express)
Shoes: Off Broadway Shoes
Purse: Thrifted (Dooney & Bourke)

Day 7. Looking back at these pictures I realized that perhaps my face is still swollen... but then I didn't care any more because this outfit has definitely become my new favorite outfit, maybe ever! I love the neutrals going on. Honestly never thought I would, but I do! These are the oxford shoes I found last week on our date night to replace the ones I could never get at F21. & I might even like these more than the F21 ones. Two toned is def. the way to go... and now I'll leave you with the most amazing, best ever, easiest pie recipe! I'm sooo excited I found it bc it is my new favorite thing. Beware, if you make it you'll want to make more & more & more & you'll also be sitting there licking the bowl clean (& when I say clean, I mean spotless) because of how good it is!

6 oz. frozen strawberry juice (in a can)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
8 oz. Cool Whip, partially thawed
Graham cracker pie shell
Slices of Strawberries
Stir juice and milk until smooth; fold in Cool Whip. Pour into pie shell and chill. Garnish with strawberries. May substitute with any frozen juices and garnish any with fruit.

Day 6: Girly Comfort

Shirt: Plato's Closet
Shorts: Plato's Closet (J.Crew)
Shoes: Thrifting

Day 6. In all honesty, I sat down to blog & had complete writers block... the only things going through my head right now are that I loved wearing this outfit and wish I could wear it over and over again because of how comfy is was with a cute factor. So often it's hard to find an outfit that is somewhat dressy or nice AND it be comfortable. Comfort in my mind usually looks like a t-shirt & my yoga pants. It's kind of a relief when I find a comfortable cute outfit to wear out 'n about... O, & I'm thinking about the fact that I REALLY REALLY hope some kids show up today! For those of you that don't know, we do an apartment ministry. And today, we're having a group come in and run a 5 day club for the kids! This is so nerve racking b/c usually when we have events, little to no kids show up. So, having another group come and do an event??! I just really hope they come for a reason (aka: actually having kids)... I'm just crossing my fingers and praying hard that things go well and it's worth their time! {Self reminder: God is in control!}

Day 5: Tribal-esque?

Shirt: Old Navy
Shorts: Forever 21
Shoes: Walmart

Day 5: Well here you have it. My new shorts that I have no clue what top to wear with... I'll admit, I've been holding out 1 shirt in my 30/30 so I could match a shirt to these shorts. This morning I tried on at least 5 different ones to see what shirt to choose. I'm still not sure this shirt was the winner, but I guess it'll have to do! & I'm not quite sure what to call the shorts, but as we walked through the zoo today, the theme started to appear as tribal-y & nature-y. So, I guess the shorts kind of fit right in and added to the feel for the day, being all tribal-esque. I know, I know. I make up words. But at least you get the gist of what I'm saying... If you have any top suggestions PLEASE send them my way, I sure would appreciate the help...

{Now let me just say, these two were getting a little too frisky if you know what I mean... & it was not a pleasant sight on the eyes, Mister.}

{Now this guy, he was the gem of the day! Absolutely gorgeous & so pleasant to stare at!}

{and it was such a pleasant surprise to see an actual Black Swan, esp after watching that dark dark movie... this guy was actually a beauty! That dark body with the bright red beak.}

Attempt # 2

Maxi dress: Marshals
Blazer: Thrifted (Isaac Mizrahi for Target)
Shoes: Walmart

Day 4: Here's to attempting date night for a second time... it's not going to be as fancy as the original surprise was planned since we don't have reservations at a nice restaurant. But we will be eating out at Chipotle & then attending the play 'Sherlock Holmes'! I'm super excited because one of my favorite things is musicals & plays... & it's even that much better when you get to see them LIVE! I haven't been to one in years & when I say years I mean I can't even remember the last time I saw one... but before we're off on that wonderful date, we are going to venture to search high & low for a pair of Oxford shoes for me, since that was the main thing I wanted from Forever21 & they had sold out of all of them... wish us luck that no mishaps like last Friday night interfere with this lovely evening!

Stripes, showers, & home!

Shirt: Plato's closet
Jeans: Banana Republic Outlet
Shoes: Walmart

Day 3: It's ten o'clock & I'm just now able to sit down with my own laptop & write this in my very own bed... I wasn't going to repeat the failure of yesterdays post, so this morning I was able to finish all the painting & then clean one of the showers, so I could freshen up after three days without one (due to the fact they had wet paint in them)!! What a relief & how refreshing it was especially since I could prettify myself before my hubby swooped down from Greenville to take a couple pictures & pick me up to take me home! Home sweet home... & goodnight!

Day 2: where's my partner when I need him?

Shirt & necklace: Forever21
Jeans: Plato's Closet (Express)
Shoes: Walmart

Two things I'd like to address here... First, clearly it is not easy taking your own outfit pics & it is not so fun using a laptop that's not yours and you're not use to using! My husband has left me here in Columbia (without the laptop) to do some painting and home repairs for my parents! I'm stuck working with no escape; no car or anything. I sure do miss him a lot & could have used his mad photography skills today. But, life goes on & I did what I could! Second, there's a story behind this necklace! Another bragging moment on my hubby. When I had all my items picked out & was ready to pay at Forever21, he looked at me and said "you need this necklace". My response, "I already have everything I want and no more money, so I can't..."! And the next thing I know, he has it in his hands and is buying it as an extra bday gift! He is too funny. I guess if he knows he likes something, he really knows... and now I'll leave you with a couple pictures of what I've been working on the past couple days!

 Stripping wallpaper in 2 bathrooms...

and painting them! Both bathrooms are stripped & painted...
the new project is trying to sponge/rag paint the second bathroom to cover up some awful drywall problems we discovered once the wallpaper was down!!
