Do you remember that excitement that consumed you as a student when you were out buying all your new school supplies and finding the best notebooks, the trendiest planner, and the brightest pens?! And then, once you had all your new cool stuff, you went home and got yourself organized with your to-do lists and schedule/calendar! Maybe I'm the only one that ever happened too. But, I had that same overwhelming excitement and motivation rush over me the other day as I walked through the isles of Target looking at all the fun school supplies, realizing summers almost over! Where did it go? ... To my surprise, that giddy school girl continued to come out in me. My excitement grew, which then increased my motivation to get organized again! My life is far from that right now, and if I were completely honest, it's all because I'm lazy! Oh, laziness. I love and hate you all at the same time...
So, when I had a slight ounce of motivation, I ran with it! I planned a way to get organized that night with my husband! We hashed out all my "dream" traits and plotted them out on paper so we could incorporate them into our family calendar! Here goes my feeble attempt at change! Changing my lazy ways to become more productive with my time and hopefully creating new habits!
My desire is to have a weekly routine that incorporates meal planning, creating a monthly budget (& sticking to it), a workout routine, a weekly cleaning plan (boy, am I slack on that), and allotted time for motivational reading (Scripture & devotional books)! I tell you my goal, simply for encouragement AND accountability... Also, to let you all know that as dreaded as it can be, getting organized is actually an amazing feeling!! I encourage you to try it... start with the question "what traits or characteristics do I desire, but lack in?" (is it having a budget, a clean house, exercising, or a daily devotional) and then go plot it out on paper and make it happen! You can do it... just let that inner school girl in you come out!
