I was originally going to dress up as a Princess to accompany my sweet little frog, but being that I couldn't find a crown/tiara I had to improvise... So after searching Pinterest high & low I found this simple idea using only make-up (which I had)! During Zeeks afternoon nap I put my skills of 'copying' to the test... resulting in my 'Oh, Deer' attempt!

To our surprise, he was actually excited & comfortable in his little frog costume! We really weren't planning on dressing him up this year, simply because we couldn't justify spending money on a fleeting costume! But then a friend graciously gave us a box of hand-me-downs & this brand new costume was just waiting for us to use it! And Oh, am I so thankful for that... isn't he just too cute!?!
^^^^^
Of course, Daddy had no costume either, so he decided the easiest thing to do was become a text box! Expressing Zeeks RIBBIT!!

My husbands first question to me this season as he knew Halloween was rolling around the corner was, "Can we take Zeek Trick-or-Treating? Or do you think people will ignore us knowing that Zeek can't really eat the candy?!" ... We decided to give it a try and to our surprise, people were actually MORE generous because of how cute they thought Zeek was! Comments like, "Oh, he's so adorable. Let me give you another hand full ..." filled our night! Jonny & I were extra thankful...

It was such a privilege to spend the night not only with my family, but with this amazing group of friends! Our small group means the world to us & we continue cherishing these friendships more and more as they are constantly growing! I don't know what I'd do without them... Not to mention, it was an extra special night celebrating Rosie's birthday!

... & having a couples pumpkin carving contest! And I say 'contest' lightly as that word was solely used as motivation! However, it was pretty intense there for a while as everyone was deciding their plan & executing it! Clearly, I left Jonny by himself to fend for the both of us. I'm not very skilled when it comes to things like this.

Jonny's finished product, Mr. Owl! ... & clearly, 'a deer caught in the headlights'!
Which, in all honesty, is how I've felt in my feeble attempts at blogging recently. Bare with me...
